What "force" is moving those game of life gliders? Is it Woo? Is it God? Or is it emergent behaviour that, despite being difficult for our evolved intuitions to grasp, is indisputably true. The history of science is replete with examples of discoveries that seemed at the time to be intuitively obviously wrong, but which turned out to be true. The earth is spherical. It moves. It moves around the sun, more than than the sun moves around it. Heavier objects do not fall faster than light ones. The speed of light is the same, whatever the relative speed of the light source and the observer. An indivisible particle can pass through two slits and interfere with itself. An interaction with one of a pair of entangled particle can affect the interaction with the entangled partner, however far apart the pair happen to be.
